Margaret McMillan Nursery
Facilities

The Nursery is based on four floors. The ground floor consists of a large bright and airy room with french windows opening into the garden, the children cloakroom and bathroom and the office, which is always accessible to children and parents. The second floor is the home of our bright, well equip baby unit consisting of 2 play rooms, a sleep room, a kitchenette and changing area. The third floor comprises of 4 rooms dedicated to literacy, numeracy and craft for our pre-school children. The lower ground floor is off limits to the children and has a large kitchen and laundry.

THE GARDEN

The children of Margaret McMillan's are really fortunate to have the use of an extensive, secluded and very secure garden. Many parents have stated, when entering the premises, "This looks like a child's paradise", or "It's like the secret garden". Every effort is made to ensure that the children spend some time in the garden during their day at nursery, weather permitting.

STAFFING

All staff have training in childcare, this training includes N.N.E.B, BTEC or an NVQ qualification together with First Aid. We also take responsibility for training our staff in specialised areas including special educational needs, health and safety and most importantly the curriculum.

MEALS

Our resident cook freshly prepares all meals, each day, on site. Breakfast is served between 8:30am and 9:15am and consists of toasts with marmite and a drink of milk. The children are provided with a mid morning, café style, healthy snack time to encourage healthy eating. A healthy balanced, varied but traditional lunch is served daily at 11.50am. Afternoon tea is served at 3pm and consists of a variety of healthy choices and a drink of milk.
