The aim of our baby unit is to provide a happy, warm and trusting environment for each baby to develop with the utmost care and love of experienced staff.
Our safe and homely baby space holds a maximum of 12 children under the age of 2 years and is run by 5 experienced members of staff who have specialist training in the care and development of babies. The unit consists of two bright and airy playrooms, allowing for mobile and non-mobile babies to be separated, a kitchenette, changing area and very importantly a calm and quiet sleep room.
Staff work closely with parents to ensure that babies routines are kept as close to those established at home as possible to maintain consistency for both parent and child. Each infant has a key person who is responsible for their overall care and provides detailed daily feedback to each parent regarding their child’s day, development and progress. Freshly cooked, healthy balanced meals are provided and served as appropriate taking into account any weaning requirements, but parents may also bring in their own food if they prefer.
Activities and equipment are provided, following guidance from the Birth to Three Matters Framework, to ensure that babies have the opportunity to learn and develop from first hand experiences. We understand the importance of fresh air for babies and ensure that they have daily use of our secure, extensive garden. |
